Yvonne West Miller

Yvonne West Miller, 91, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026. In accordance with Yvonne and Herb’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a future date where the ashes of Herb and Yvonne Miller will be cast over the remains of Smith Chapel in North Cowden, where the couple met and were married.

Yvonne was born on March 7, 1935 in Ballinger, Texas to George and Virginia West.   Yvonne grew up in the oil fields of West Texas where she met her childhood and forever sweetheart.  She graduated from Odessa High School and soon after graduation, she married her sweetheart, Herb Miller. They had two children, Joe Miller and Julie Miller Parnell.  Yvonne was the financial secretary for First Baptist Church in Big Spring, Texas.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Julie Miller Parnell and son-in-law, Tim Parnell of Midland, Texas. Her daughter-in-law Judy Porter Miller.  Her three grandchildren, Jody Gully and her husband, Mike Gully, of Ft Worth, Texas, Joshua Miller and his wife, Kimberly Miller, of Katy, Texas and Mitchell Parnell of Lubbock, Texas.  Her 10 great grandchildren, Sunceree Gully, Alajia Gully, Oceana Gully, Jaisheekus Gully, Jeniyah Gully, Geiovondra Gully, Jude Gully, Beckham Gully, Quinn Gully and Camden Miller. Her sister-in-law, Shirley West and numerous nieces and nephews.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia West, her brothers, George “Buddy” West and Joe Carter West, her husband, Herb Miller and son, Joe Miller.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards cherished companion, Lela Dawkins, Hospice of Midland especially Kayla Thrasher, and the caring staff at Cimmaron Place.
