Yvonne Cantrell Castleberry, 72, was welcomed into the arms of Christ on March 5, 2013 after a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Kelview Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Franklin, officiating.Yvonne was born to Rolen and Lillie Cantrell on August 3, 1940 in Ben Wheeler, Texas. She loved to share her memories of her simple childhood in East Texas, where her unwavering faith in God began.She married Johnny Norman Castleberry on April 18, 1958. This union brought a daughter, Deborah Lynn and later, a son, Donald Ray.Yvonne was an active member of Kelview Heights, after moving to Midland in 1965, until she was called to her permanent home in Heaven. She was a member of the church choir and a ladies trio where she used the beautiful voice that God had given her. She also taught Sunday School where she was able to touch many childrens lives and was an instrument in bringing them to God.She was employed by Kelview Heights Daycare for more than 20 years leaving a legacy for so many children and their parents where she was known so lovingly as Miss Yvonne.She was a beautiful, vibrant Christian woman with a wonderful sense of humor who counted so many as friends.Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Reynolds and husband Scott; son, Donald Castleberry and wife Marie; granddaughter, Ashley Quintana and husband Cody; Sean Castleberry; Amanda Castleberry; Christopher Linton and wife Nicole; James Dormady and wife Scarlett; Brandi Hogan and husband Ken; Meagan Reynolds; Eric Reynolds and Chandler Grassie. She is also survived by a sister, Darlene Chandler and husband Hollis, and brothers, Bobby Cantrell and wife Rickie; Billy Cantrell and wife Lila; Dale Cantrell; Jackie Cantrell and wife Jean and 11 great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, Rolen and Lillie, and husband, Johnny.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to American Diabetes Association, 3001 N Big Spring ST, STE 104, Midland, TX 79705 or the Widow and Single Mothers Fund at Kelview Heights Baptist Church.A visitation and celebration of Yvonnes life will be held at 3600 Douglas AVE in Midland on Friday, March 8 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
