Ysabel J. Luna, Jr., 65, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, January 24, 2004, in a Midland hospital. Prayer services will be 7:30 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Kevin Parker, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on February 22, 1938, in Marfa, Texas and married Erlinda Hernandez on March 27, 1964 in Pecos, Texas.Luna owned and operated Luna Produce for over 30 years. He enjoyed interacting with the public and being involved with the "Ask Your Neighbor" program and was affiliated with the Hillcrest Baptist Church.He served in the United States Air Force. He was a charter member of the DAV Chapter # 47 and had served as Commander for a number of years.Survivors include wife, Erlinda Luna of Big Spring; three sons, George Luna, Moises Luna and Kendall Luna all of Big Spring; one daughter & son-in-law, Norma and Marcellino Chavez of Westbrook; two grandchildren, Trey and Lindsey Chavez of Westbrook; one brother, Robert Luna of San Antonio; two sisters, Rosie Portillo of Pecos and Mary Luna of Wimberly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ysabel Luna Sr. and Esther Jiner Luna; and by a son, Daniel Christopher Luna.He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
