Yesenia Emery, 47, of Midland, Texas died suddenly on the night of January 26, 2024. She was born in Pecos on January 24, 1977 to Maria and Fernando Tarango. Yesenia was independent from a very young age. Yesenia attended Permian High School before starting work for Bobby Cox companies. She later attended the University of Texas Permian Basin and received her BA in Child and Family Studies. She later decided that teaching just wasn’t for her and worked for Occidental Petroleum for over ten years. Everyone who knew Yesenia knew how much she loved running. She ran several half-marathons and marathons. Up until her death she made it a point to run 5 miles every day.

She will always be remembered for her generosity and the way that she made sure that those who were important to her felt cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, daughter, and sister and will miss Yesenia every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Yesenia was preceded in death by her grandmothers Emilia Jaques and Josefina Tarango, her grandfather Felix Tarango, her tia Tomasa Rivera, and her beloved fiancé Robert Hunt. She is survived by her daughter Kirsten Emery, her mother Maria Tarango, her father Fernando Tarango, her sister Veronica Tarango, her brother Gabriel Tarango, her nephew Aaron Tarango, her fiancé’s daughter Claire Hunt, her mother-in-law Cindi Marlar, her step father-in-law Coy Marlar, and her father-in-law Skipper Hunt. She is also survived by her three tias on her father’s side, many cousins and her friends who she all loved dearly.

A visitation will take place 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024 at Mid-Cities Church – Neely English Campus.
