Wanda was born Oct 1, 1933, in Big Spring, TX to Marion Cecil and Laura Mae (Bryans) Wilkerson. She was raised on the family ranch in Glasscock County, TX and graduated from Garden City High School in 1951.
Wanda attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, then moved to Midland. There she met her husband of 68 years, Floyd Bennett Moore. Bennett and Wanda were married July 1, 1955. They became members of St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Midland in 1956. She was a devoted Christian and the spiritual leader of her family. She was very active in her church. After Covid hit she attended the Methodist Church in Garden City, the church she grew up in.
Wanda was beautiful, smart, kind and talented. She was disciplined and hard working. She was an excellent seamstress and talented quilter. Wanda was a Master Gardener and her lawns were proof of that. She also loved vegetable gardening, canning and freezing the results of her labor. Wanda was a wonderful cook. Her chocolate pie was always a staple at all holiday and family gatherings.
Wanda loved to travel. She was blessed to have traveled to several European countries, along with Egypt and Jordan. She also visited many states throughout the U.S.
Wanda was a devoted wife, mom, Gran and friend. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved attending all their activities: any and all types of school sports, activities, 4H and stock showing. She was just getting started on the great-grandkids’ activities of t-ball and soccer. She always remembered friends and family with a birthday card and gift.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Mae Wilkerson, her brother Marion Wilkerson, her brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Peggy Carver and nephew, Jim Carver.
