Wilma Fay Stovall Daniels passed from this beautiful life on earth on June 29, 2026, after an illness.
Wilma was born on June 8, 1933 in the Mt. Olive Community of Dawson County, Texas to William Pierson “Wilie” Stovall and Letha Fay Hutcherson Stovall. She graduated from Lamesa High School. She was raised in a very Christian, caring, loving, and happy family.
Wilma was hired as Executive Secretary by Robert H. Ray Geophysical Company. She learned the Geophysical Business and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. She also cared for the many people that Wilma associated with in the Oil and Gas exploration industry. She married her husband, John Daniels, while they were both employed by Ray Geophysical, on June 3, 1966. Several years later, they formed their own Geophysical Company, Strataphysics, Inc.
She had a special love for cats. They were always considered family members of the family. She always said that she and John could not imagine living without a cat and wanted to be buried in her backyard with her previous, very spoiled, cats. One of her ex-bosses always encouraged her to write a book about her many experiences in the industry and a book on cats, both of which she never accomplished.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, two brothers, Glenwood Stovall and Sterling Stovall, and her sister, Viola Trice.
Wilma is survived by her nephews, Darry Trice of Lamesa, Melvin Trice and wife Mary of Rockport, Tommy Stovall and wife, Connie of Lamesa, Bill Stovall of Lamesa, Ron Stovall and wife Dicie of Sweetwater; two nieces, Jeannie Thames and husband Leon of Chandler, LeEtte Husk and husband Rod of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several great nieces and nephews, as well as many precious friends.
