Willodean Dickenson, 68 of Stanton, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, in a Stanton nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM January 17, 2003 at First Baptist Church Stanton with, Rev. David Harp pastor, officiating and Rev. Eddie Dickenson to assist. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery Stanton. She was born on February 8, 1934, in Lamesa, Texas and married Delbert Dickenson February 24, 1952 in Lamesa, Texas. Mrs. Dickenson was a very fashionable lady and loved the latest fashions. She had lived in Stanton since 1968 and had worked for the Department of Public Safety in Midland as a secretary for Highway Patrol for six years. She had attended Odessa Commercial College, and had owned and operated a Merle Norman store in Midland for four years. She loved her grandchildren and was a loving mother, grandmother, and a wonderful mother-in-law. She always thought of others and loved to travel. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; Delbert Dickenson of Stanton; two sons, Ronald Dickenson of Ft. Worth and Robert Dickenson of Coahoma; one daughter, Cheryl Brown of Midland; her mother, Ola Mae Maxwell of Stanton; one brother, R. E. Haggard of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. The family suggests memorials made to Hospice of Midland, 911 W.
