Willie Turner, 92, of Andrews, died on Monday, May 11, 2009, in an Andrews nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Stanton with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stanton. She was born on May 20, 1916, in Fayette County, Alabama and married Marvin Cecil Turner in Fayette County, Alabama on September 15, 1934. He preceded her in death. She had worked as a seamstress most of her life and moved to Andrews in 1955 from Winfield, Alabama. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed raising roses and enjoyed attending senior dances. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Andrews. Survivors include two sons, Wade Turner of Stanton, Hulon Turner of Huntsville; one daughter, Brenda Sue Scott of Fresno, California; one brother, J. W. McCarver of Sylacauga, Alabama; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her dancing partner, Stewart Collins of Andrews and her traveling companion, Opal Thurwanger of Seminole. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Earl Turner, her daughter, Linda Jane Turner and her daughter-in-law, Nelda Turner.The family suggests memorials be made to Willow Hills Assisted Living, 510 E.
