Mr. Willie (Uncle-Brother) Saddler Sr, age 93, of Midland, TX, was called home by his heavenly father Friday December 23, 2011.Willie was born March 12, 1918, in Hallettsville, TX, to Roe Saddler & Annie Lemons Saddler. He moved to El Campo, TX where he married Hansel Hope. To this union, five children were born. Willie later settled in Midland, where he met and married Rosie Marion and became a loving father of 6 more children. He worked for Schlumberger Well Service 33 years as a gun loader until he retired. After his retirement, he became a Master Gardener of his own yard; there was not a plant that grew in Houston, Texas from his late daughter's house that he could not get to grow in Midland. He was a loving father to his 11 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and his friends. Willie was dubbed the Bar-B-Que King in our eyes and the fortunate people that had an opportunity to taste his famous Bar-B-Que and sauce.Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Roe & Annie Saddler; three daughters, Sandra J Saddler, Betty Tennison, & Mary L Lewis; great granddaughter Yasmen Collins; three sisters, Ever Dee Graves, Marie Sams & Earsie Williams. Survivors include his wife, Rosie Saddler, eight children, Willie L Saddler (Vickie), Annie Saddler, Linda Saddler, Raymond Saddler all of Midland, TX, James Saddler of Dallas TX, Helen Swearinger (Mike) of Katy, TX, Willie Saddler Jr (Joyce), & Patricia Luke (Mickey) both of Houston, TX; three sisters, Roetta Eaton & Beverly Jones of Midland, and Mary Alice Dyers of Atlanta GA; three brothers, Arthur Sams of Midland, TX, Harry Sams & John Sams, of Chicago IL; 30 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Services will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel on Friday December 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Rev. William Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven North Memorial Park.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
