Willie Marie Nichols, 88, of Big Spring, died on Friday, March 2, 2007, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Larry Marshall, minister of the Knott Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.She was born on October 14, 1918, in Quanah, Texas, to John and Ivy Price. Willie Marie married Barney Lee Nichols on January 5, 1937 in Stanton, Texas and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1995.She and her late husband were married for over 68 years and they farmed in the Knott community for many years. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Knott Church of Christ.Survivors include one daughter & son-in-law, Jan & Kynn Maxwell of Midland; two grandchildren, Leann Hopkins & husband, James and Cory Maxwell & wife, Misty all of Midland, Texas; five great grandchildren, Taylor Hopkins, Kagen Maxwell, Maden Maxwell, T.C. Smith and Kynlee Maxwell. She was also preceded in death by her parents and five sisters. The family suggests memorials be made to Medina Children's Home, 21300 State Hwy 16 N., Medina, Texas 78055.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
