William Hoyle McCright, Jr., 89, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, went to be with his Lord on October 19, 2014. Hoyle was born May 5, 1925 in Dawson County to the late William Hoyle and Mabelle McCright. He grew up in the Roby area on the family farm and graduated from Roby High School. He served the US Navy during World War II, and then attended the Southwestern Banking School in Fort Worth.He moved to Midland in 1948 and went to work for the First National Bank, where he had a long and successful career, retiring in 1980. He met Modelle Peel and they married October 15, 1949, and together raised 4 children.Hoyle was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Midland. He also served as an original member of Midland College’s Board of Regents and was actively involved in the location, planning, and building of Midland College. During his banking career, he helped build Midland into what it is today.Hoyle had a beautiful singing voice and will be remembered as being funny and kind, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a good friend to many.On October 15, 2014, Hoyle celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Modelle. He is also survived by his 4 children: Dan and wife Sheila McCright of Midland, Gary and wife Laura McCright of Midland, Allyson Burns of Phoenix, AZ, and Alesa and husband Bill Locklear of Fort Collins, CO; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Eva Finley of Canton, TX and Nell Railsback of Graham, TX.He is preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 3 of his sisters.Visitation and celebration of his life and memories will be held 5 to 7 pm at Nalley-Pickle Welch Funeral Home on Wednesday October 22, 2014.A public Graveside Funeral Service will be at Resthaven Memorial Park at 3 pm Thursday the 23rd of October, 2014.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
