William Harrison "Bill" LinkBill Link, 81, of Odessa, went to be with our LORD and Savior, April 1, 2009 after a lengthy illness.Bill was born September 7, 1927 to Harrison Virgil "HV" Link & Derah Belle Smith in Spur, Texas. He married Elouise Lawrence June 25, 1947 in Lea County, NM.Bill graduated from Aspermont High School and served our country in the United States Navy as a SeaBee in the Asiatic Pacific Area during World War II. He owned and operated Link Pump Company until retirement. He loved fishing, hunting and in his earlier years, enjoyed dancing and golf. Bill loved to visit with people and never met a stranger. Many Odessans will attest to his regular visits, just to "check" in with friends.Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Elouise Link in 1986; father, HV Link in 1993; mother, Derah Belle Link in 2000 and grandson, Eddie Dickerson in 2006.He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Dickerson and husband, Bob of Odessa; Sandra Sailors and husband, David of Carrollton; Bill Link Jr. and wife, Donna of Dublin; grandchildren, Amy Seaton and husband, Rick, Chris Lawson and wife, Kendra and Karris Littlepage and husband, Cory; great grandchildren, Katie Seaton, Zachary Lawson, Sydney Dickerson, Reese Littlepage and Brooke Littlepage; brothers-in-law, Calvin Lawrence and wife, Dolores and E.M. Lawrence; sisters-inlaw Jean Williams and husband, Doug, Mary Taylor and husband, Rod; as well as many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held, Saturday, April 4, 2009, at McCoy Funeral Home in Aspermont, Tx from 12:00-2:00 pm with a graveside service to follow at 2:30 PM at the Aspermont Cemetery.The family would like to thank all of the friends and family for their support and uplifting prayers. A special thank you to the wonderful staff on the 5th floor of the VA Hospital, who made his last month so much brighter as well the friendship and love offered to the family.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VA Hospital, 300 West Veterans Blvd., Big Spring, Tx 79720.Local arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. Sandy, Chris & Karis, I read of Bill's death. My Sympathy to all of you. Even though Bill has been sick for along time I know that saying good bye is difficult. Dear Sandra, Suzie and Jr. How I remember your Mom talking about you kids and being so proud and loving each of you so much. She was lucky to have married a good man and they were dedicated parents to you kids. I'm sorry I didn't know your Dad better, but I never heard anything but good about him and I know you kids have been wonderful memories.

So many memories about Bill are dear to me. You all have been so generous through the years to include me in your family. Of all the things Bill you have done, your family is the best tribute of all to him. I know it's so hard to lose a parent, God bless you all.

My family was very sorry to hear about Mr. Link's passing. He was my father's roommate for a very short time at Buena Vida. They had to move my father (Harold Whitley) to another hall so they could watch him better. Everytime we went and walked with my father we went down to his room and visited with him. We enjoyed our short visits with him. He was always in good spirits. God bless your family in this time. Vicki Castillejos
