I'm always saddened to learn of the death of a World War II veteran, regardless of whether I knew them well. We owe so much more to those men and women than we could ever repay. Mr. Roden obviously leaves an impressive legacy in education and in the oil patch, as well. May our Father and our God comfort all of you in his family as you deal with his loss. . Sincerely, Joseph Benham, Chaplain Hill Country Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution
Robert Summers left a message on September 8, 2010:
We shall all miss 'Red Bill'. He was indeed one of my very favorite cousins. In my early career as an artist, he encouraged me and sustained me for nearly a year while I stayed home and honed my skills. This generosity saved me many years of "Trial and Error" until I could survive as a full time artist. I shall never forget his generosity and encouragement along the way. May God Rest his Soul.
