William Elder III, or Tracy as he was known to many, lost his fight against cancer December 5, 2014. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Tracy was born on October 15, 1979 to Janelle Buchanan and William Elder, Jr., in Grand Prairie, TX. He graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Bedford, TX in 1998 and then went on to serve our Country in the United States Army. He married Tessa Lanning on March 20, 2010 in Midland, TX. Tracy was a journeyman electrician at Corey Sly Electric. Tracy was an unbelievably funny and clever man that had passion for the Longhorns, the Dallas Cowboys, trucks, hunting, his friends, and most importantly, his family. He leaves behind four beautiful children, Hannah, Kyler, Dakota, and Emme, each possessing a bit of Tracy’s snarky personality and mischievous spirit. His wife, Tessa, will only have to look as far as her childrens’ eyes to see that a force as big as Tracy is far too big to fit into Heaven; thus, pieces of him will live on with his childrens’ sarcastic remarks and witty quips. He is survived by his wife, Tessa Lanning Elder of Midland, TX; four children, Hannah Elizabeth Elder of Bedford, TX; Kyler Lee Wagaman, Dakota Rea Elder, and Emme June Elder, all of Midland; mother, Janelle and husband, Don Buchanan of Haslet, TX; father, Bill and wife, Honey Elder of Lexington, KY; grandmother, Wynelle Edwards of Grand Prairie, TX; grandparents, Darlene and Ron Buchanan of Houston, TX; and two sisters, Cecilia and Madison Elder of Lexington, KY.Tracy was loved by many, as has become evident by many friends and family members that have shown infinite love and support during the last year of his life. The family wants to thank Corey and Dawn Sly for their generous support during Tracy’s battle with cancer, M.D. Andserson, Dr. Karen Carr and all of the Oncology Staff at Allison Cancer Center, and also Hospice of Midland for their wonderful care of Tracy. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com. ,
