William Daniel Brown, born November 20, 1924 in Roosevelt County, New Mexico, left this earth October 16, 2009, to be with his Heavenly Father. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. California during World War II.He married the love of his life, Rhymogean (Rama) Scott on February 14, 1944. The couple settled in Midland where they began raising their three sons, Danny, Mike and Randy. Dan and Rama celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last February. Dan, as he was known to his friends, founded Brown's Permian Electric Co. in 1960. He ran the company with great integrity for many years and eventually handed the reigns over to his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Denise Brown. Mike runs the company today with the same principals he learned from his father. In 1964, Dan and Rama joined the Golf Course Road Church of Christ, which he held close to his heart as his church home.Dan grew up on a farm in Eastern New Mexico and was never happier than when he had some animals and a garden to tend. He will be missed so deeply by his many friends and loving family. You will live in our hearts forever.He is survived by his wife, Rama Brown; his sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Gene and Vicki Brown of Houston, Michael Lynn and Denise Brown of Midland, and Randolph Stephen Brown and Dawn Hester of Midland; a sister Robinette Gregory of Weatherford, OK; grandchildren Chris and Shelly Brown of Conroe, Amanda and Eric Biggers of Plano, and Derek Daniel Brown of Austin; and two beautiful great-grandchildren, Landry and Ryan Brown of Conroe; many nieces and nephews, too many to list.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland with Brother Eddie Lee, officiating.
