William “Bill” Brooks

William (Bill) Brooks (79) of Stanton, Texas passed away on January 3, 2024. There will be a viewing at the Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton on Monday January 8, 2024 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at the Belvue Church of Christ on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at 10:00am. Graveside service will take place at Portales Cemetery at 2:30pm (MT) on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

William Brooks was born to Henry Brooks and Betty Black on February 5, 1944 in Roswell, NM. He married his “sugar,” Wilma McBride, on November 23, 1967.

Bill worked for GSA for 30+ years, and after retiring from there he went on to work for Martin County for 15+ years.  He was a faithful, lifelong member of the Belvue Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife, and two sons (William Eric Brooks and Craig Ferguson Brooks).

He is survived by his son Aaron Scott Brooks (Paula Brooks), daughter Shelley Ramirez (Eusebio Ramirez Jr.), his grandchildren Bonnie Ramirez, Hillary Ramirez, Megan Brooks, Bailey Luna, Aaron Brooks, Whitney Graham, Joshua Brooks, Marshall Brooks, Ashli Brooks, and Mariah Brooks, and many great grandchildren.
