Willard L. Wise, 89, of Granbury, formerly of Big Spring, died on Saturday, June 23, 2001, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Charles Ross, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Masonic rites by Staked Plains Lodge #598 A.F. & A. M. He was born on October 1, 1911 in Minden, Louisiana and married Dorothy Wallace on June 20, 1936 in Leakey, Texas. He was a Baptist. Willard had been a resident of Big Spring for over thirty-seven years and had worked for Saunders Plumbing Company as the credit and warehouse manager for thirty years. He was a member of the Staked Plains Lodge #598 A.F. & A.M, Big Spring Chapter # 178 A.M., Big Spring Council 117 R. & S.M. and the Big Spring Commandery #31 Knights Templar. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wise of Granbury; seven daughters, Margie Ross of Granbury, Edith Adams of Junction, Georgia Moose of Odessa, Ginger Rowan of Anchorage, Alaska, Beth Karras of Prospect Park, Pennsylvania, Patricia Roten of Kyle and Barbara Myers of Ozona; one son, W.L. Wise, Jr. of Austin; one brother, Johnny Wise of Greenwood; one sister, Jewel Fisher of Austin; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
