Wilbur "Bill" Shearin, 64, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 20, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on April 1, 1939, in Denison, Texas and married Melva Patton on December 31, 1987, in Sherman, Texas.Mr. Shearin owned and operated Lures Unlimited for 20 years and traveled in 36 states with his business. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed tournaments and traveling. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.He was a member of the Assembly of God and served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959 with the Co. B 249th Signal Corps.Survivors include his wife, Melva Shearin of Big Spring; two sons, Bobby Shearin of Denison and Joe Shearin of Pottsboro; two daughters, Carol Gardner of Springtown and Michelle Shearin of Harker Heights; one step son, Kenneth Suggs of Big Spring; one step daughter, Cindy Smith of Tampa, Florida; his mother, Aline Shearin and sister, Betty McCrary both of Dallas; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Shearin in 1970 and two brothers Robert Shearin and W.E. "Dub" Shearin.The family will receive friends from 8:00PM-9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.The family suggest memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 3205 W.
