W. D. \Tiny\ MasonTiny was born on March 3, 1925 and died on June 16, 2016 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11:00 am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Tiny was born in Holdenville, OK to Ernie and Alice Mason. He was raised in Wewoka, OK and attended Wewoka schools. He was an avid football player and loved other sports as well. He enjoyed working on cars with his dad and brothers. He enlisted in the USMC in 1943 serving 3 years including 2 years in the South Pacific in WWII. After returning home he attended Oklahoma A & M (OSU) for 4years. During that time he met the love of his life Helen L. Dodd and they were married for 67 years at the time of his death. Tiny and Helen enjoyed life together. They loved to dance, especially the Jitterbug. They also enjoyed traveling, their favorite being Hawaii several times. He dearly loved his daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren. He immensely loved family trips with them. At the age of 32 Tiny started playing golf. He was a man with very gifted hands and coordination for the game. He continued his passion for the game by playing several afternoons a week. His game improved so much he won several club championships in Midland and Andrews. In retirement he continued to play at Greentree CC Tuesday to Friday with his gang of approximately 12 buddies. He played to the age of 86. Tiny was a member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ where he loved singing all the hymns. He was employed by Seco Production Company for 30 years. He wrapped up his production superintendent career managing wells for Kirkpatrick Oil Company headquartered in OKC. He retired at age 68.He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Mason; daughter, Tina Swanner and her husband, Dan Swanner of Midland, TX; granddaughter, Natalie Swanner of Los Angeles, CA; grandson, Cole Swanner of Midland, TX; one sister, Janice Carroll of Arlington, TX; brother, John \Pete\ Mason of Stillwater, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his grandson, Clark Swanner; sister, Juanita Gumm; brothers, Ernie Mason, Jr., Billy Mason and Leonard Dennis. Our family would like to thank Cardiologist, Dr. Michael Miller for his kind and loving care of Tiny for many years.Memorial contributions can be made to KWO Ministries (Kenya Widow and Orphans), 3500 W.
