Wesley Eugene Hardin, 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Rev. Terry Easley, officiating. Wesley will be laid to rest beside is wife at the Littleton Cemetery in Littleton, Colorado. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the funeral home in Midland.Wesley Eugene Hardin was born in a dugout near Kim, Colorado on June 4, 1920. He was raised in various towns in southern Colorado and moved to Missouri during high school. He attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri. Upon graduation, earning a degree in business, Wesley entered the Army Air Corps and the Transportation Corps serving in WWII until the end of the war. After leaving the military, Wesley entered the University of Colorado in Boulder and earned his Masters in Personnel Administration. He then started working for Texaco and worked in various towns in Colorado.Wesley married Jeanne Rita Verette on September 27, 1954 and they moved to Lewistown, Montana. Wesley and Jeanne had two daughters, Julie Anne and Paula Susan, who were born in Lewistown. The Hardins lived in Lewistown and Billings, Montana until 1969 when they moved to Denver. Wesley moved to Midland to live with Paula and her children in March of 2005.Wesley is survived by his two daughters, Julie Anne Hardin of San Jose, California and Paula Susan McCown and her three children, James Wesley, Julie Marie and Austin Russell, all of Midland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an animal charity of your choice to celebrate Wesley's love of animals.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
