Wesley Curtis “Bub” Hull
On Monday, March 22, 2021, Wesley Hull passed away at the age of 90. Wesley was born on April 10, 1930 in Tulsa, OK to Joseph and Lucy (Peters) Hull.
He attended Sul Ross State in Alpine, TX. He was a member of the Sul Ross rodeo team 1948-1950. Participating in bareback, saddle bronc, and bull riding. In 1949 their team won the National Intercollegiate Championship held in the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA.
The Korean War interrupted his education when he was drafted into the United States Army. After training at Fort Ord, CA he was sent to Korea and assigned to the I & R platoon of the 23rd infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division.
After an honorable discharge from the Army he returned to the Midland area working at Drilco Oil & Tools, Rod Ric Corp, and various other service companies.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father Joseph, his mother Lucy, and his wife Annette. He is survived by his three children, Marcia, Mona, and Mitzi, grandchildren Suzanne, Amanda, Shawn, Shamar, Jack and TJ, 15 great grandchildren and his dear friend and companion Mary Briggs.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
