Wow, what a wonderful service for Wayman. We didn't get to see you, but want you to know Wayman and your family will always have a special place in our hearts. Wayman married us 29 years ago. It was amazing to see the love and support you have in Greenwood. I guess we really have forgiven you for leaving us. God has richly blessed you. You will be in our prayers in the weeks and months ahead. Love, Kyle and Darlenea Robertson

Steven and I would like for you all to know that you are in our prayers and thoughts. Wayman was a very special man and will be greatly missed by all. We didn't get to be around him very much, but felt a close connection through Jason and the few times that we had the priviledge to hear him speak. We know that he is in heaven now and is no longer in pain. May the good Lord bless you all and keep you close in your time of sorrow. Sincerely, Steven and Millie Hirt

Dear Leona & Family; Bro. Wayman, was truly a blessing to many, and a friend to all! I am so proud to say that he was our Pastor, he lead both Brian and Kelly to the Lord, and baptised them also. He loved his flock, and each of us knew that he did. Waymon is now one of God's Angels, in Heaven as he was on earth. Our thoughts and prayers of peace and comfort are with all of the family. See you in Heaven, Brother Waymon !

Wayman has gone home. HIs journey finished, his race completed. God has one of his own back with him. I met Wayman when we were doing preacher exchange several years ago. We were blessed to hear him speak at Greenwood Church of Christ when we attended, and Eli Borden preached at Greenwood Baptist that night. Awesome message. He will be missed.
Donna Blake left a message on October 19, 2010:
Brother Wayman was a true and faithful servant. I can just see Jesus smiling at him saying "Well Done - Faithful Servant"! He always lived his life and set an example for the rest of us as to who we should be as a Christian. In the 20 years we've been at GBC Brother Wayman has gotten our family through many ups and downs. When my brother died in 2006 he still loved me through my bitterness at the world and everyone around me. By his example (he never gave up on me nor failed to let me know how much he loved me and my family) he taught me how to forgive and to love people again. I can still hear his voice and see him at the front door of the church saying "I love ya guys". We will all miss him so much!!! What an honor to call him our pastor, friend and brother! Please know we are all praying for each and everyone of you. We love you and consider you to be our family too.

Dear Leona, and family, You are all in my prayers. This is not the way I wanted this all to go but in the bible study I have just started I'm learning about divine intervention in life. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know. Wayman taught me so many times about comfort and helped me in many ways he never knew. I can remember him teaching on Hebrews 12:1 A huge cloud of witnesses all around us (loved one that have already gone to heaven cheering us on while we) keep running the race marked for us. I also stand in the long line saying Thank you Wayman for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed and I am so glad you gave. To the family I say THANK YOU for sharing him with me. May our God give you strength and courage as you are running your race. Your Sister in Christ, Donna B.

What wonderful memories Wayman leaves for everyone that was blessed to meet him. Even in illness, and still today he offers encouragement to all of us. In all my life I never knew anyone that could remember names as well as Brother Wayman. It always amazed me to walk down a hall with him and hear him greet each person, both young and old by name. My prayers are with you, his precious family. I pray that God will hold you ever so close and that you'll feel His love in such a special way. Hugs to each of you, Esther

Greg and I just want you all to know how special Wayman has been to us. He's the only Pastor our boys have ever known. His love for this community, our church, but mostly for his Lord...was exemplified in everything he did. He will be missed. May the Holy Spirit comfort each of you and give you that peace that only He can give, while resting in the assurance that Bro. Wayman laid his crown at the feet of Jesus and is walking the streets of Heaven, singing praises to God! I'm sure he'll meet people in Heaven (now and in the future) that through his dedication and witnessing...came to know our Lord and Saviour! We say "Thank you, Wayman, for giving to the Lord"! We love each of you and truly love him... Greg and Becky Ogden

Dear Family, I know what it is like to watch a loved one suffer while trying to hold on to life for his family. I also remember seeing my own daddy off as he "moved" from Roswell to Heaven. I know someday we will have aglorious reunion in heaven, but in the meantime, we miss our loved ones so much. Donna and Esther spoke of Waymon often and I felt as if I really knew him. My Sunday School Class has prayed for himn throughout the year and we prayed for you, his family yesterday. May God be especially felt by all of you during this time of greif. God bless you and keep you.

To all of Wayman's family: Words cannot express how truly sorry we are for the loss of your husband, father. grandfather. We cared for him very much and prayed throughout his illness. We know he rests in the arms of our heavenly father and suffers no more but that does not take away your grief in his loss . He meant so much to so many. He married one of my sons and buried another. He counseled us and never judged us . Many jewels are in his crown today. He loved the church and the school and will be greatly missed. So saddened by all he had to endure this last 3 years but know he still blessed many in this journey. A great man indeed. The Quine Family
