Wanda Lou Phillips, 88, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2:00PM at Resthaven Memorial Park with Myron Unruh, officiating. Wanda was born March 1, 1924 in Electra, Texas to William Gentry and Mittie Gentry. Wanda worked for Mobil Oil for 34 years, retiring January 1, 1988. She was a member of Professional Secretaries International. Wanda also was a member of DAR, the United Daughters of Confederacy, the Porcelain Art Club in Midland and Odessa, and Bellview Baptist Church. Wanda played either piano or organ and was a choir leader at Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years where she was a charter member. She was also a charter member of the Calloway Family Association. She dearly loved going to their annual meetings all over the USA.Survivors include daughter, Joyce Taylor (Jackie) of Midland, TX; daughter, Wanda Smith (Kenney) of Denver City, TX; daughter Ann Thompson (Larry) of Lubbock, TX; son, Loyd Phillips (Pat) of Lubbock, TX; grandson, Dusty Taylor (Rachelle) of Midland, TX; grandson, Joel Taylor (April) of Pflugerville, TX; grand-daughter, Elizabeth Taylor (Charlie) of Midland, TX; grandson Chad Smith (Blanca) of Monahans, TX; grandson, John Thompson (Beth) of Lubbock, TX; grand-daughter, Amy Stell (Michael) of El Paso, TX; grandson, Scott Phillips of Lubbock, TX; grandson, Brad Phillips of Lubbock, TX; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, and 3 very special nieces, Sonoia Ethwa, Peggy and Patsy. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow C.
