Wanda Lee Trent

Wanda Lee Tolleson Trent was born on May 26, 1945, in Houston, Texas, to Charles and Margie Tolleson. She went into the loving arms of Jesus at her Midland home, surrounded by loved ones, on August 3, 2026—ten years to the day after the passing of her beloved husband, David Trent.

Wanda is survived by her son, Devin Trent of Midland; her daughter, Devra Wooten, and husband, Roy, of San Antonio; and her daughter, DeEtte Brunson, and husband, Brandon, of Midland.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Danielle Trent, engaged to Derek Vance; Derrek Trent and wife, Luz; Blake Wooten and wife, Ema; Brooke Byrum and husband, Mitchell; Brett Brunson and wife, Cassie; Bryan Brunson and wife, Sarah; and Blaine Brunson. She leaves six great-grandchildren—Genesis, Ford, Barrett, Clay, Brecken, and Jack—with another on the way. Additional family includes her sister-in-law, Diane Black, and husband, Walter; two nephews, Aaron Vincent and wife, Tia, and Larry Lonis; and one niece, Loretta Sessions, and husband, Craig.

Wanda’s life was firmly rooted in her love for Jesus. She was a lifelong Christian and a faithful member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ for more than 40 years. She loved going to church, listening to the Bible, singing praises, serving others, and telling everyone she met about Jesus.

Wanda grew up in Idalou, Texas, where she met and married her sweetheart, David. Together they started their family and enjoyed 53 years of love and laughter. Wanda spent her early married years raising her three children and loving her life as David Trent’s wife. After moving to Midland in 1981, she found a second family and ministry through her career as a beautician. Shear Kountry was her home away from home. Every coworker, client, and haircut was a precious opportunity to invest in others and share her love for Jesus.

Wanda loved her family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors deeply. Her favorite things included cooking for others, attending church, spending time with her grandchildren, sharing stories, listening to the Bible, singing, and making people laugh with her Donald Duck voice. She especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the duck pond and riding the glass elevators with them. She remained active and exercised until the final week of her life.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; her sisters, Ann Vincent Blackburn and Edith Harmon; her nephew, Charlton Walker; and her niece, Venessa Vincent.

Wanda’s joyful faith shaped how she loved, served, worked, and lived. Her family and friends will deeply miss her humor, stories, songs of praise, generous cooking, and her gift for making others feel loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Golf Course Road Church of Christ.
