Wanda Lee (Porter) Jeffcoat

Wanda Lee (Porter) Jeffcoat, 80 of Stanton, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at home. A visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, TX. Services will be 11 am Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Downtown Church of Christ in Stanton, TX. No Interment will follow as Wanda wishes to be cremated.

Wanda was born on October 28, 1945 in Black Oak, Arkansas to Lealon and Ruth (Smith) Porter. Wanda grew up in Arkansas with her parents and three brothers James Porter, Verlin Porter, and Lloyd Porter.  Wanda’s family moved to Carlsbad, NM in August 1960 and she graduated high school in 1964 from Carlsbad High School.  Wanda met her one and only husband Robert Jeffcoat on a blind date in December, 1964.  They married on August 13, 1966 in Carlsbad, NM.  Robert and Wanda resided in Midland, TX and had two children, Bruce Wayne Jeffcoat and Vickie Raquel Jeffcoat.  In 1977 Robert and Wanda moved to Stanton and resided until both of their deaths.  Wanda worked for Midland Country Club, First National Bank of Midland, Wagner and Brown, and the City of Stanton Housing Authority until her retirement in October 2011.  Wanda was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ.

Wanda is survived by her son Bruce Jeffcoat and wife, Lisa Jeffcoat of Midland, TX; daughter Vickie Jeffcoat of Stanton, TX; brother Verlin Porter and wife, Nita Porter of Midland, TX; brother Lloyd Porter of Spring, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Wanda is also survived by Edna Ringener her best friend and Nathan Fambro whom she thought of as a son.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Jeffcoat, and brother James Porter and wife, Joyce Porter and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Flower/plant arrangements can be sent to Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, TX.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Downtown Church of Christ, Martin County Seniors, Alzheimer’s research, and/or Hospice.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Martin County Seniors Center for bringing her lunches, Angels Care Hospice, Home Instead, and Samantha Hernandez who lovingly took care of her for the last year of her life.
