Wanda Jean Vaughan Jochetz, 85, of Stanton, Texaspassed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013.She was born on February 4, 1927 in the McCarty Community east of Lamesa, Texas to Robert Roy Vaughan and Mattie Pauline Shipp Vaughan.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & homemaker. Sheloved the Lord and was active in the United Methodist Churches they served, as a minister's wife.She loved to cook, read,do crafts,ceramics, needlework, talkand stay in touch by writing lengthy letters to family and friends here and abroad. We know that she is in heaven rejoining the love ones that have preceded her in death.She lived all of her life in Texas attending schools in Tahoka, Lamesa, El Paso, Wichita Falls,Lubbock andcollege in Clarendon.Her first job was at Mark Halsey Drug Store in Lubbock and lateras a switchboard operator at Southwestern Telephone Company.She met the love of her life, Milton Jochetz, on the night he graduated from Slaton High School after being introduced by her aunt,his teacher.They courted through letters after Milton joined the Navy in 1945 and were married on March 11, 1946 in Slaton where they lived until 1952 when Milton entered the ministry. They moved to Abilene where Milton attended McMurry College and soon moved to Hawleywhere they served their first appointment at theFirstUnited Methodist Church.After graduation theymoved to Krum and served theUnited Methodist Church there while Milton attended Perkins School of Theology at SMU.Their ministerial life took them to Texline, Bunavista/Borger, Sweetwater, Clarendon, Gruver, Seymour, Andrews and Stanton where they retired.They traveled to Israel, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and England where they served as an exchange pastor forfive weeks & traveled to Scotland for one week.Wanda leaves a legacy of faith and love to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.She will be remembered by many friends in all of the places they lived and visited.Those left behind to honor and cherish her memory are her loving husband, Milton, son, Tommy Jochetz and wife, Sharon of Greenbelt Lake/Clarendon, daughter, Paula Millhollon and husband, Joe of Midland, 12 grandchildren, their spousesand 21 great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother, Allan Wayne Vaughan and daughter, Sandra Kay Jochetz Kizziar.The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Gilbreath Funeral Home, 209 N. St. Charles, Stanton, Texas from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. atthe First United Methodist Church, 208 E.
