Wanda Jean Brock

Wanda Jean Brock, 66, of Big Spring, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at her residence. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the First Christian Church with Dr. Sandy Sandlin, pastor, officiating.She was born August 25, 1951 in Big Spring and was raised in Big Spring. Wanda graduated from Big Spring High School in 1969 and attended Howard College and graduated from East Texas State University. She taught school in Big Spring, Rankin and McCamey and returned to Big Spring teaching English and Reading. She taught for 31 years and retired in 2008. After several years of retirement Wanda started substitute teaching at Forsan High School.Wanda was passionate about teaching, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved watching her grandson, Talon, play baseball.Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Cavazos and husband, Jacob of Big Spring; one grandson, Talon Cavazos; three sisters, Brenda Bridges and husband, Garry of San Angelo, Pam Reagor and Reba Kinsey both of Burnett; one brother, Mike Kinman and wife, Marie of Burnett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lottie Heckler.The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church, 911 Goliad St., Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
