Walter Lane, 73 of Big Spring passed peacefully on July 9, 2023 in his home. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the First Church of the Nazarene.
Walt was born May 13, 1950 in Monticello, New York. He graduated high school Oakcrest Regional High School in Mays Landing, New Jersey in 1968. He later attended classes at Delaware Technical College.
Walter actively attended the First Church of the Nazarene where he helped with the Drive Through Nativity and many maintenance projects. He and his wife actively organized the Senior Dances each month and participated in the Walk to Emmaus. Walter enjoyed everything outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was known for his innate ability to fix almost anything electrical or mechanical. He was most at peace with a rod and reel in his hand on the water with his family and friends. He was also a fan of history and enjoyed reading and visiting historical sites and museums around the country.
Walter is survived by his wife Lois Lane. His son Ben Lane with wife Amy of Big Spring. His daughter Danielle (Dee) Lindsey and her husband Mike of Big Spring. Step-Daughters Samm Kuykendall and her husband Phillip and Ashley Edmundson and her husband Ace. His grandchildren, Dusty Kirby, Katie Wilson, Wyatt Lane, Megan Lane, Zac Lindsey, Larrissa Melchert and, Madison Kuykendall. He is also survived by his sisters Elissa Valdez and Judy Sullivan along with numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Ethel Lane, his wife Sandra Lane and one sister Betty Sheppard.
