Wallace Reid, 81, of Coahoma, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Coahoma Cemetery with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of First Baptist Church Coahoma, officiating.Mr. Reid was born on December 13, 1923, in Coahoma, Texas and married Joyce Irene Shafer in January, 1944 in Coahoma.He was the son of Howard and Mary Reid, raised in Coahoma and was a lifetime resident of Coahoma. Howard was a member of the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He started working with Fleming Oil Company which was later bought by Walsh & Watts. Howard worked as a pumper in the oil field for over 40 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coahoma and a Mason with the Coahoma Masonic Lodge.Survivors include one son, Bobby Reid of Vealmoor; one sister, Sandra Dunzel of Weatherford; four grandchildren, Brent Gross of the United States Marine Corp, Shawn Reid and Casey Reid both of Vernon, Sylvia Gross of Arlington; and a special friend, Wilma Walker of Big Spring.He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary Reid, a daughter, Sharon Lee Lehman, two sisters, Mildred Menser, and Bonnie Mims, and a brother, Quinon Reid.The family sugggests memorials be made to the National Multiple Schlorosis Society, 2101 W.
