Wallace \Bucky\ Garner, 82, of Big Spring, died Friday, August 5, 2016 in a Midland hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Peace Chapel atTrinity Memorial Park.Wallace was born July 27, 1934 to Wallace C. and Clara Garner in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He married Mary Louise in January of 1959 at Elgin AFB, in Florida. She preceded him in death January 5, 1996.He attended college for two years at Eastern Oklahoma A&M. In 1954 he joined the United States Air Force. Over his 20 years in the military he was stationed in Florida, Africa, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas and served in Vietnam. He retired in 1974 as a Senior Master Sergeant.Bucky was a kind, generous man who loved spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, and in his workshop. He was a man who could repair or build anything he put his mind to from clocks to computers and birdhouses to furniture. His hobbies included woodwork and building and flying remote control airplanes and helicopters. He was a member of the Masonic Staked Plains Lodge #598 AF & AM in Big Spring. He also enjoyed participating in the Big Spring Amateur Radio Club.Bucky is survived by a daughter, Lyn King and her husband, Michael of Broomfield, Colorado; a son, Arley Garner of Dallas; three grandchildren, Brooke, Alex, and Sam; one great grandson, Benjamin; four sisters, Carolyn Vouklizas, Cynthia Brooks, Mary Ann Bristow, and Vivian Cottrell; and three brothers, Wayne Garner, Ricky Garner, and Raymond Garner.In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janice Garner; and a grandson Benjamin King.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
