W. E. "Gene" Henry, 73, of Coahoma, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 28, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Herb McPherson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on April 14, 1932, in Big Spring, Texas and married Martha Maye Hitchcock on August 2, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas.Gene was a life long resident of Big Spring and Coahoma. He worked as a driller and a pusher in the oilfield until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed crocheting and made pot holders to give out. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Martha Henry of Coahoma; two sons, Jackie Henry of Coahoma and Wayne Henry of Hope, Arkansas; four sisters, Margaret Rigdon, Pat Nichols and Brenda Chandler all of Big Spring and Donnie Massie of Coahoma; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Sis Henry and one brother, Lloyd Henry.
