Mary and all- I can't think of Bill without remembering how mad he was when the Band Booster Carnival stood us up that summer! I think he would have impounded any carnival that came throughI-20 for the next 3 years!! He was a great man, wonderful father and husband; and not a bad band booster, either!! I know you will all miss him- please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God bless you and give you peace. Ricky & Pam

What a great guy - honest, fair, compassionate and strong. He was such a teaser - he never let you forget it if he had something he could pick on you about. But, underneath all the teasing you knew he really cared and it was his way of showing it. If you needed help, you knew you could count on him, and that you, Mary would be right there, too. Thanks for being a friend to so many of us all these years. We know we will see him again, but it doesn't make us miss him any less right now. My prayers and thoughts are with you today and will be for all those tomorrows, too.

Mrs. Jennings, I had the pleasure of working with Bill during the days of License & Wt. in Glasscock County. As a JP he was so helpful when the tickets came in. I always appreciated that he would take the time to visit and explain any of the violations to me. Please accept my sympathy to you and your family. May God give you peace in the days to come.

Mary, My heart goes out to you and your family. Tho our paths haven't crossed in many years, I feel like Bill was always in our corner. Although I wouldn't have wished it on him, He was the first one there for our fallen DPS officers. For my family I felt like he had a special place in our hearts because he was there for our dad (Jimmie Parks). The world is a bit more scary with out good men out there protecting us. Please know that You and your family are in our prayers.

He was such an influence on my life and my careeer and I hope it shows in my life today. Bill and I had such great times working together and teaching in Austin. Mary & Family; Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Bill was one of the most fairest man I ever knew and treated each person he came into contact with the way he wanted to be treated. I have no doubt that the first words Bill heard upon arriving in Heaven were "Well done, thy Good and Faithful Servant". Rest in Peace my dear Friend, you were so loved and appreciated and you truly enriched and inspired my life. YOU will be missed!

God bless the family. Bill and I worked the Moss Creek Drivers LIcence checks in the early 80's. He would work the country side and I would work the city side we had a lot of fun. Bill was one of my closest friends, not only was he a devoted professional but a trusted and loyal working partner. I had my motorcycle helmet with a face shield one time and was filling my bike up in Coahoma, well I saw Bill walking to his unit and I yelled "Just like a state employee..goofing off", well he didn't know who I was and let me know real quick.."boy who are you?" and when I took off my helmet, he laughed with me. I will always remember my friend and his loyal service. May he rest in peace, he is standing his last post, and looking down on us. Until we meet again in heaven my dear friend rest well. Officer Bob Lester (retired)
