Mrs. Voncile Gilbert Coker passed away at the University Medical Center in Lubbock on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 5:45 AM at the age of 91. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.She was born on July 14, 1913, in Purves, Texas to Birda and Isaac Gilbert. She married Leonard Coker, longtime owner of Coker's Restaurant, on December 26, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1995.Voncile was a longtime resident of Big Spring and had lived in Lubbock at the Grace House Assisted Living Center for this past year. She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Big Spring, where she was a WMU member and a Sunday School teacher.Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don and Linda Coker of Lubbock, and Larry Coker of Austin; two granddaughters, Tracy Morse of Lubbock and Keely and husband, Chad Hyde of Frisco and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay in 1941; two sisters and one brother. The family suggests memorials be made to the Gideons, P.O.
