John 14: 1-3 Vivian has gone to join her Lord at her mansion in heaven on Thursday, September 6, 2007.Vivian M. Sullivan of Midland, formerly of Iraan, Texas, was born on April 23, 1922 in New Sharon, Iowa to Robert W. Cowell and Gertrude Farr. Vivian came from a family of 9 children, 7girls and 2 boys. She was named after her brother Max who died at the age of 3 of pneumonia before Vivian was born.Vivian married Thurman Brooks Sullivan on January 3, 1943 in Brackettville, Texas. She and Thurman lived most of their married life in Iraan where they raised 3 boys. After Thurman passed away in 1974 Vivian went to work for the Iraan public school system where she remained until she retired in 1986. Vivian was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Iraan. She enjoyed many trips with the Eastern Star "girls" before her move to San Angelo.Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman, and 3 sons, Robert W. Sullivan, James Allan Sullivan and Gary Don Sullivan. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 2 great-grandchildren.Surviving Vivian is her son, Edwin Brooks Sullivan and his wife, Elaine of Midland; four grandchildren, Timothy Scott Sullivan and his wife, Stacey of Muscatine, Iowa, Bradley Edwin Sullivan and his wife, Deidre of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Rebecca Rochelle and her husband, Rocky of San Angelo and Jamie L. Dean and her husband, David of Hawaii; six great-grandchildren, Shanna Sullivan, Danna Sullivan, Rylie Rochelle, Karly Anderson, Jamesyn Dean, Alexander Dean; two sisters, Barbara McClure of Malvern, Iowa and Jeana Rysdum of Floris, Iowa.After the death of her son, James Sullivan, Vivian was lovingly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Terry McAlister of San Angelo. She also survives her.Vivian was a woman of strong faith and values. She has a quiet sweet spirit. She was a testament of God's grace and will in her life. She has left an endearing legacy of God's love to her children and grandchildren. Her family and friends celebrate her life.Graveside services will be at the Iraan Cemetery in Iraan on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Mike Wright of the First Baptist Church of Iraan, officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702. To place a memorial plaque at the foot of a tree in the Iraan city park, send a memorial to Mildred Parker Garden Club, Iraan, TX.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
