Virginia Allen, of Coahoma, died on Monday, November 24, 2003, at her residence. She fought a difficult illness with grace and courage. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Coahoma with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.Mrs. Allen was born on August 4, 1928, in Binger, Oklahoma and married Paul Allen on September 15, 1956, in Marietta, Oklahoma. Virginia was a 1953 graduate of Oklahoma State University. She became the home demonstration agent in Love County, where she met Paul. Later they moved to Lubbock and then Coahoma where they have lived for the last 40 plus years. She was a dedicated teacher with Coahoma Schools for 34 years, where she taught homemaking and 4th grade. Virginia was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Coahoma.Survivors include her husband, Paul Allen of Coahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Robert Cox of Ft. Worth; two grandchildren, Bryan Cox and Amy Cox both of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Othela Pippin and Susan Bryan and her husband, Joe, all of Ft. Worth; one brother, Bob Thompson and his wife, Natha, of Pittsburg, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Willie Mae and Dewey Thompson and one brother, Jack Thompson.The family suggests memorials to Home Hospice, 600 S.
