Ginger Johnson, 69, of Midland, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at St Nicholas Episcopal Church in Midland with Rev. Jon Stasney, and Rev. Jonathan Hartzer officiating. Ginger was born in Ogden, Arkansas on March 15, 1935 to Will and Mildred Tong. She graduated from high school in Corpus Christi. Ginger married Merion Johnson on June 4,1953 in Sinton, Texas .She attended Odessa College and Midland College and worked as a nurse in the Midland-Odessa area for 15 years, retiring in 1990. They moved from Odessa to Midland in 1998. Ginger's life was consumed with prayer for the needs of others and by her witness to all through her life dedicated to Jesus Christ. All who knew her can be certain that she is now in a better place. She was a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Midland.Ginger is survived by her husband, Merion of Midland; two sons, Dennis Johnson and David Johnson and one daughter, Bethany Caldwell, all of Odessa; five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale Tong of Hurst, Gerald Tong of Copperas Cove, and Willie Tong of Bossier City, LA; and two sisters, Linda St. George of Tempe, AZ and Kathy Francen of Lewisville.
