Virginia Spaight, 67, of Midland, went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Midland Memorial Hospice Inpatient Unit after a short illness. Memorial services will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 1:00PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Midland. Ginny was born on February 19, 1945 in Queens, NY. In 1961, she moved with her family to Hudson, NY. Ginny worked for the state hospital for several years. In 1969, she became Mrs. John Spaight. In 1979 the Spaights made their home in Midland, TX and became part of the community, members of Midland Lutheran Church. Ginny will be most remembered for her beautiful Soprano voice, singing in the choirs of Midland Lutheran Church and St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Norman Read Chapter of the Eastern Star, Midland-Odessa Symphony Chorale and Allegro Chorale.Ginny is survived by John, her husband of 43 years; brother, Robert Armstrong; sister, Linda Dauber; brother, Fred Stein; nephews, as well as many many saddened friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
