Viola Neas

Viola Neas, 85, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, February 7, 2002, at the Marcy House. Graveside funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2002, at Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of First Baptist Church of Coahoma, officiating. She was born on October 15, 1916 in Abilene, Texas and married Horace Ercell Neas on June 12, 1936 in Baird, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1994. Mrs. Neas grew up in Abilene and graduated from high school there. She came to Big Spring in 1994 after Mr. Neas's death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to Abilene Duplicate and Big Spring Country Club Duplicate. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Rhodes of Big Spring; a son, Dwight Sidney Neas of Houston; five grandchildren, Neasa Iden of Big Spring, Jeff Rhodes of Coahoma, Matt Neas of Austin, Mark Neas of Sugarland and Robin Neas of Cincinnati, Ohio and six great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one grandson. The family suggests memorials to: Gideons International, Big Spring Camp, P.O. Box 133, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0133.
