Vijay Ishvarbhai Patel, 50, of Big Spring, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2015 in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Vinod Bhakta, officiating. Cremation will follow at Trinity Memorial Park and Crematory.The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Vijay was raised in Vanesa, India, but came to the U.S. in 1976. He moved with his family to Big Spring in 1981 for better financial opportunities. Overcoming many years of hardships, Vijay worked alongside his family to create a name for himself and his family. He was a man who loved laughter and made those around him laugh and feel comfortable in his presence. Vijay was a man who could easily converse with a complete stranger about politics, movies, and music for hours. A loving husband, father, brother, and son, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid food junkie who loved to try any new food whether it was an Indian, Chinese, or American dish. His favorite pass time was sitting on the swing and listening to all types of music until the early hours in the morning. Survivors include wife, Anjana Patel, and two daughters, Shivalli Patel and Tulsi Patel, mother and father, Niruben and Ishvarbhai Patel, brother, Jagdish Patel and wife, Mamtaben; two nephews, Sagar and Shiv Patel. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.,
