Velma Lee Blagrave, 91, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, January 27, 2008, in a local nursing home. Ms. Blagrave was my 9th grade English teacher at Big Spring Junior High in 1859. I remeber having to act out our book report for the class. My partner was Letress Ann Hall. We were lucky to have such a fine teacher at a crucial time in our development. She was my 9th grade English teacher. I will never forget the day it was my turn to recite the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. I was too scared to perform. She made me come in after school were I told her that I knew the poem, but was too shy to perform in front of the class. Thank you Mrs B.
