Trudy Juanice Carter, 87, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, August 3, 2006, at her granddaughter's residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Rev. Arnold Tonn, pastor of Spring Tabernacle, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.Trudy was born on June 23, 1919, in Callahan County, Texas, to Claude and Nellie Wilkerson. She married William Gilbert "Cotton" Carter on September 2, 1952 in Big Spring and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1981.She had worked at the Cosden Petroleum Building as an elevator operator, managed the Gage's Fina Truckstop in Stanton, and retired from the Big Spring State Hospital. She was always a hard worker and was never idle. She loved her family, canning, working in her yard and growing roses. She was a member of Spring Tabernacle and enjoyed her work at the church, where she worked with the Spring Tabernacle Food Ministries. Survivors include a son, Richard Ray Burrow of Big Spring; one granddaughter, Tammy Rae Schrecengost and a grandson and his wife, Michael Don and Shelley Burrow all of Big Spring; one great grandson, Ethan Schrecengost of Odessa; two great granddaughters, Kristen Lasater and Magen Schrecengost both of Big Spring and three great great grandchildren, Mckenzie Schrecengost, Austin Lasater and Cayson Schrecengost. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Claudeane Baker; a son, Troy Griggs Burrow; and a grandson, Richard Gregg Burrow.
