Tricia was born on March 28, 1957 in Cisco, Texas, the daughter of James Allen and Sue Agnew Day. Tricia married longtime friend, LeRoy Cagle, on November 28, 1975. He became a steadfast rock and comfort to her through health difficulties she endured for 40 of their 42 married years. Together they raised two sons, Wayne and Justin. Tricia happily devoted her days to training up, nurturing and praying for her boys. She delighted in them both. When Tricia became a grandmother in 2013 it gave her new life. Anyone who was around Tricia knew that those grandbabies delighted her soul and she treasured her role as “Savta” (Hebrew for grandma.) Tricia made the most of every minute she could spend with the grandchildren and wanted her great faith to be passed down for generations.
At a young age Tricia, along with her four sisters learned harmony and sang gospel publicly. She used her gifted voice in the 90s to begin a music ministry, with the help of husband LeRoy, called “In Rhythm” with the following mission: “To minister in song by cooperating with the Holy Spirit in bringing God’s message of hope, love, and saving grace to those who do not know Him as Savior. (Acts 1:8) And to encourage fellow believers to “…not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
Tricia is survived by her husband, LeRoy Andrew Cagle; son, Wayne Allen Cagle and wife, Melissa of Amarillo; son Justin Edward Cagle; grandchildren Samuel and Rebekah; mother Sue Day Osborne and husband, Floyd; four sisters, Tausha; Judy and husband Steven; LaDena; Lajuana and husband Bud; numerous nieces and nephews; and Floyd’s children Rhonda, Tammy, Cindy, Dirk, Floyd Jr., and their extended families. She was preceded in death by her father, James Allen Day.
Tricia was wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, singer, prayer warrior, counselor, teacher, encourager, giver, and more. Above all else though, she wanted to reflect the Lord well. She wanted someone to be drawn to Him by what they saw in her. Tricia loved people intentionally, but her relationship with Jesus Christ was foremost. She treasured God’s Word and knew that her strength and unexplainable peace came from above. She lived out Romans 12:9-13 by showing genuine love, serving God, rejoicing in hope, being patient in tribulation, constant in prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, and showing genuine hospitality. Tricia’s life was a testament to the power of God in this world. She faced many trials, but endured each one with grace and steadfast strength. Tricia touched many lives and will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and genuine kindness and love she shared with all. She waited her whole life to hear Him say, “Well, done my good and faithful one.” She finished the race. She won the fight. No more pain. We are so happy for her.
