Tony Burns

Tony Burns, 49, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Ackerly with Rev. Clifton Igo and Rev. Ray McMorris, officiating. Interment will follow at the Ackerly Cemetery.He was born on May 10, 1958, in Seagraves, Texas and married Charlcie Morehead on January 23, 2005 in Big Spring, Texas.He was a lifetime resident of the Ackerly and Big Spring area. Tony farmed for several years and was the owner/operator of Tumbleweed Oil Field Service in the Ackerly area. He managed several oilfield service companies in this area. He enjoyed fishing, yard work and spending time with family and friends.He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ackerly.Survivors include wife, Charlcie Burns of Big Spring; two sons, Bradley Burns and Brent Burns both of Lubbock; one daughter, Micca Burns of Lamesa; his father and step mother, James N. and Maria Burns of Ackerly; one sister & brother-in-law, Cindy and Toby Smith of Benson, Arizona; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Bart and Pat Burns and Vincent and Faye Burns all of Brownfield; one sister, Mendy Burns of Brownfield; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia Ann Burns. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
