Tommy Hart, 86, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2002, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. David Ring, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. He was born on July 23, 1916 in Big Spring, Texas and married Elnora Hubbard on October 20, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. Tommy began his career with the Big Spring Herald in 1928 as a carrier, retiring in 1981 as editor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Tommy served in the United States Air Force for five years during World War II, working the last two years on a military newspaper while stationed in Santa Rosa, California. Survivors include his wife, Elnora Hart of Big Spring; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Ron Perry of Denton and Phyllis and Ron Tipton of Waco; his grandson, Jason Perry of Denton and a brother, O. C. Hart of Brenham. The family suggests memorials to the donor's favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
