Tommy Eugene Tompkins, 79 of Midland, Texas passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of Robert Lamar Tompkins and Mabel Virginia (Anderson) Tompkins, born in Macon, Georgia. He attended grade and high school there. He then went on to Vennard Bible College in Oskaloosa, Iowa where he met his future wife, Mary Lou Richards. They were married on January 5, 1968, and were blessed with two loving children, Richard Eugene Tompkins and Stephanie RaNae Tompkins.

Later four beautiful granddaughters were born which made Tommy’s life complete. Taylor Anne Tompkins, Tia Marie Tompkins, Brooklyn Olivia Belk and Bree McKenzie Belk.

He was a loving generous man who was proud of his daughter-in-law, Alison JoAnna (Wade) Tompkins.

Tommy served his country in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam during that time.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby Lamar Tompkins and Billy Ray Tompkins.

Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Midland, Texas on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00am.
