Tom Peterson, 55, of Midland, died on Monday, January 26, 2009 at Midland Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2009 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Russell Nebhut and Reverend Dr. Mark Cannaday, officiating. He was born November 29 1953 in Santa Monica, CA to William and Mary Thomas Peterson. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Peterson of Midland; son, Paul Peterson of Midland; daughter, Mary Margaret Peterson of Midland; mother, Mary Thomas Peterson; brother, Richard Peterson and his wife Heather of La Crescenta CA, sister, Maura Peterson of Miami, FL; one niece and one nephew. I am deeply saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was my fellow reporter at the Half Moon Bay Review for three and half years, more than that he was my friend. Tom was a good, good man. Blessings and prayers to you Margaret, Mary Margaret and Paul.

It is with deep sadness that I read of Tom's death, which came too soon for a friendly man with a quiet intellect and ready wit. While we worked at the Half Moon Bay Review I had the pleasure of knowing him and looked forward to his honest, steady writing style that brought interest to some of the driest town meetings and mundane events in our small community. I know he loved to be outside in nature, and hope that his family will find a sense of solace in knowing that he was a good man.

Margaret, The San Jose State group has learned of Tom's passing and just found this way of expressing our condolensces. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Tom when he was with the Half Moon Bay Review and I worked for the City's Planning Dept. Tom would always stop and visit with me and was always such a friendly and warm individual. He was liked by everyone who knew him and we truly missed him when he relocated. My prayers are with you and your family.
