Tim Cornett, 58, of Coahoma, died Saturday, August 6, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Big Spring. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at the Sherwood Cemetery near Mertzon.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Tim was born September 10, 1957 in McCamey, Texas and married Karan Psencik on January 14, 1984 in Iraan, Texas. He had a career in the oilfield as a pumper and worked up to a production foreman, working for several west Texas oil companies including 25 years for Marathon Oil Company. He loved being outdoors, seeing the sights, and hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was a deacon of Salem Baptist Church.Tim is survived by his wife, Karan Cornett of Coahoma; one daughter, Chelsea Cornett Burch and husband, Jeffery of Midland; one son, Garret Cornett, nomadic wanderer; his mother, Wanda Moore, and her husband, Fred of San Antonio; and one brother, Mike Cornett and wife, Pam of Gardendale,He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Cornett and a brother, Lynn Cornett.The family suggests memorials be made to the Midland College Foundation, Tim Cornett Scholarship Fund, 3600 N. Garfield, Midland, TX 79706.
