Thomas Wendell Campbell, 80, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, June 21, 2007, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Wheat, pastor of Berea Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.He was born on July 4, 1926, in Roby, Texas and married Billie Vernell Payne on April 3, 1954 in Big Spring. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2004.Mr. Campbell came to Big Spring, as a child, with his family and grew up and attended school in Big Spring. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He owned and operated Campbell Concrete Contractors for many years, until retiring. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church and belonged to the American Legion Post #508.Survivors include one son, Tommy Campbell of Big Spring; two daughters, Toni Cline of San Antonio, and Nena Cruz of Big Spring; eight grandchildren, Todd Campbell of Austin, William Steagald of New Braunsfel, Niki Cruz of Abilene, Adam Cruz of Dallas, Shane Cline, Wendell Cline and Robert Cline all of San Antonio, and Steven Cline serving in Iraq; one sister, Nona Faye Brunson of Big Spring; and fourteen great grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister and five brothers.The family suggests memorials be made to The American Heart Association, 3205 W.
