Thomas "Jerry" Musgrove, Sr., 74, of Big Spring, died on Monday, February 23, 2009, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Jim Wilkerson, Rev. Elwin Collom and Rev. Kenny Platte, officiating.He was born on May 28, 1934, in Hylton, Texas and married LaDell Johnson on January 15, 1954 in Big Spring.Jerry came to Big Spring in 1950 from Pampa. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He worked for Fina Oil Company as a pumper for over 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was a handy man and enjoyed volunteering his time to his church. Jerry loved being a dad, granddad and great-granddad. He loved getting up early to ride four wheelers, hunt, fish and golf.Jerry was saved in 1942 at the age of eight at Goldthwaite Baptist Church. He was ordained as a deacon at Crestview Baptist Church on August 21, 1977 and was currently a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, LaDell Musgrove of Big Spring; a son & daughter-in-law, Thomas Jerry and Liz Musgrove of Big Spring; a daughter, Susan Palmer of Big Spring; two brothers, Michael Musgrove of Azle and Joe Don Musgrove of Odessa; four granddaughters, Lochie Beth Darling and husband, James of Salado, Jacqueline Jean Lee Riley and husband, Dan of Coahoma, Brionna Jaden Palmer and Kylie LoRaye Palmer both of Big Spring; two great granddaughters, Lily Sage Riley of Coahoma and Kelli Jo "Cricket" Darling of Salado.He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Perry and Thelma Ray Dunnam Musgrove.
