Thomas H. "Buddy" McCright, 74, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Wilshire Park Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Tims, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring St. in Midland, on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 from 6 until 8 P.M.He was born on April 3, 1931, in Royston, Texas and married Frankie Farrill on September 2, 1961 in Odessa, Texas.Thomas graduated from Rotan High School and served in the United States Navy, during the Korean War, as a 3rd Class Petty Officer from 1951 until 1954. While in the Navy, he served on board the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard. Following his service career, he attended Texas Tech University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Thomas worked as a Tax Enforcement Officer for the State Comptroller's office where he retired after twenty-six years of service. He then drove a school bus for Midland Independent School District for seventeen years before retiring from there also. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and sharing his relationship with the Lord. He had been a deacon at the Christian Church of Midland, and was currently a member of Wilshire Park Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Frankie McCright of Midland; one son and daughter-in-law, David Thomas and Rebecca McCright of Fredericksburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Anne "Muff" and Anthony D. Jones of Magnolia; four sisters, LaMerle Denton of Rotan, Clara Lee Clifford of Tigard, Oregon, Eva Finley of Canton, and Nelda Railsback of Abilene; one brother, William Hoyle McCright of Midland; four grandchildren: Grace Nicole Jones of Magnolia, Benjamin Thomas McCright, Zoe Elyce McCright and Katelynn Joy McCright, all of Fredericksburg.He was preceded in death by his parents William and Maybelle McCright, one sister, Birtie Burns, and three brothers, Kenneth McCright, Dan McCright and Mickey McCright. The family suggests memorials be made to Wilshire Park Baptist Church, 801 S. Bentwood Drive, Midland, Texas 79703.,
